小明去买药 (Xiao Ming Goes to Buy Medicine)

A reading practice text about a boy who goes on a journey to the pharmacy to buy medicine for his sick grandfather.

今天，小明去看爷爷。 — Today, Xiao Ming goes to visit his grandfather.

爷爷的身体不太好，他生病了。 — Grandfather's health is not very good, he is sick.

爷爷对小明说：“孩子，我需要吃药。 — Grandfather says to Xiao Ming: "Child, I need to take medicine.

你能去药店帮我买药吗？” — Can you go to the pharmacy to help me buy medicine?"

小明说：“没问题，我现在就去！” — Xiao Ming says: "No problem, I will go right now!"

小明走出房子，来到了大门前。 — Xiao Ming walks out of the house, and arrives in front of the main gate.

大门外边有一条小路。 — Outside the main gate, there is a small path.

小明往左边走，向前走了一会儿。 — Xiao Ming walks towards the left, and walks forward for a while.

车站就在右边。 — The bus stop is right on the right side.

很快，一辆公共汽车来了。 — Very soon, a bus arrives.

小明上了车，坐在里面看外面。 — Xiao Ming gets on the bus, sits inside and looks outside.

公共汽车向前开去，路并不远。 — The bus drives forward, the road is not very far.

过了一会儿，车停了，小明下了车。 — After a while, the bus stops, and Xiao Ming gets off the bus.

药店在哪里呢？ — Where is the pharmacy?

小明向右边看，没有找到。 — Xiao Ming looks to the right side, but does not find it.

小明坐公共汽车回到了爷爷家。 — Xiao Ming takes the bus back to grandfather's house.

爷爷吃了药，笑着说：“你真是个好孩子，谢谢你！” — Grandfather takes the medicine, smiles and says: "You really are a good child, thank you!"
